چکیده

As grid resources are geographically distributed, efficient resource discovery and management has become one of the important requirements. Besides, Grid users are independent identities and negotiation is necessary for reconciling their diverse characteristics. Therefore special mechanism is required to negotiate and discover the required resource or similar resource as an alternative when discovery fails. However, the quality of the service being provided in the grid environment depends on both functional as well as the nonfunctional requirements [NFR]. But conflicts between NFRs are not yet resolved effectively. Towards this end, a system of ‘Non-Functional Requirement Preferences for ‘ARDNAS’ (Agent Based Resource Discovery with Alternate Solution) ‘NFR-ARDNAS ‘System’ is proposed to provide an expeditious and efficient resource and alternate resource when discovery fails with NFR preferences. In addition to the service provided to the grid user, the nonfunctional requirements preferences are also analyzed and the conflicts among them are resolved based on the trade-off analysis done with the help of fuzzy rule sets.

Runtime Models Based on Dynamic Decision Networks: Enhancing the Decision-making in the Domain of Ambient Assisted Living Applications

Dynamic decision-making for self-adaptive systems (SAS) requires the runtime trade-off of multiple non-functional requirements (NFRs) -aka quality propertiesand the costsbenefits analysis of the alternative solutions. Usually, it requires the specification of utility preferences for NFRs and decisionmaking strategies. Traditionally, these preferences have been defined at design-time. In this pa...

QoS-Aware Web Service Semantic Selection Based on Preferences

The emergence of service oriented computing brought major research challenges in the process of discovery and selection of web services. Key to success in obtaining the best fitting web service out of a multitude of alternatives is finding the service that both satisfies the requester's functional needs and non-functional requirements. Clients should also be able to indicate how to make trade-o...

Customization of Object Request Brokers by Application Specific Policies

This paper presents an architectural framework for customizing Object Request Broker (ORB) implementations to application-specific preferences for various non-functional requirements. ORB implementations are built by reusing a domain-specific component-based architecture that offers support for one or more non-functional requirements. The domain-specific architecture provides the mechanism that...

Requirements-Driven Design and Configuration Management of Business Processes

The success of a business process (BP) depends on whether it meets its business goal as well as non-functional requirements associated with it. BP specifications frequently need to accommodate changing business priorities, varying client preferences, etc. However, since business process goals and preferences are rarely captured explicitly in the dominant BP modeling approaches, adapting busines...
